Flat Tyre

0

Friday morning I went out to get my bike out, I discovered that the tyre was nearly flat, on closer inspection I found that I had picked up a nail at some point :(

I rang around and got some quotes for repair and most of the places quoted £25 if the wheel was on the bike or £15 if it was off the bike. One Place quoted £39 it was a recommendation and a place I have been to before. ( won’t be going again :( )

I settle on taking the bike to S K Motorcycles on Great Northern Terrace, Lincoln who said that they could fit me in the following morning, I must say that Steve and staff were very friendly, even had a cup of coffee while I waited.

Great Service

Thanks Steve and Staff, (I will be calling again and pointing others if your direction)

My Module 1 Weekend

0

Starting on Saturday 9th April I starting training with Bike Academy Lincoln for my module 1 motorcycle test. I arrived at Bike Academy Lincoln’s yard at 8.30am, after a quick briefing we (Matt the Instructor and Colin the other trainee) warmed the bikes up (2 Suzuki Gladius’s and Matt’s Honda CBF600 he calls the donkey lol).

We then headed out for a ride around under Matt’s instruction then headed down to the test centre to learn the course, all didn’t start well lol, I turned the bike around ok pushing it from one parking bay to the other, then had my first attempt at the cone slalom, first cone foot down, second cone foot down, OMG I thought to myself, I’m not going to be able to do this. Matt had a word telling me what I was doing wrong and told me the correct way to control the bike at low speed and I soon had it licked. Colin had the same problem but soon cracked it, I think most people struggle at first :)

After a few runs at the course and a few mock tests were we ended up just getting a few minors, we headed back up to the bike academy yard had a coffee and some eats, went out for a ride around learning some mod2 stuff, headed back to the yard and had some more low speed cone dodging which was boring but glade we did it and then called it a night.

Sunday 10th another early start, when out for a ride learning / practising more mod2 stuff and then down to the test centre again for some more mock tests (I think we did 3 or 4 each and had 3 or 4 passes) to we decided to forget mod1 until the test in the morning, we headed out for more mod2 stuff a coffee and then another ride out learning more mod2, had and early night.

Monday 11th (Test day) after a toiletly morning lol, I headed to the bike academy had a coffee and chat in the morning before going out for a ride about learning and practising more mod2 stuff, making sure to get in some slow speed manurers to get used the bike before the test, we then headed to the test centre, Colin was up first with a Pass with no minors, then it was my turn also with a PASS and no minors with a speed trap reading on 52 and 53kph.

I’m now well happy looking for my first bike, hopefully a Hornet / Bandit 600 or 900 and can’t wait for mod2 this weekend :)

Happy days

Sighting Ride

1

Suzuki Gladius 650

Today I had my sighting ride in preparation for my motorcycle test, first time on a larger bike (over 125cc), and all I can say is WOW, I have a big smile on my face and can’t wait to get started with the days of learning for the mod1 and mod2.

I was on a Suzuki Gladius 650 (nice machine) had a quick go around their yard (practise area) and then me and the instructor hit the road, out the yard on Greetwell Rd, down to Fiskerton and on to Bardney, back through Washingborough, up Lindum hill and back to Greetwell Road.

Lincoln to Bardney and Back

1

Ride on my bike, I do this ride when I can cos its a nice ride for a 125 bike (hate major roads on a small bike).

Starts in Lincoln going upto Burton Village on B1398 and then on to till bridge lane A1500, across the A15 on the Horncastle lane up to Scothern.

Nettleham to Reepham across the A158. next to Fiskerton and up to Short Ferry and over the bridge to Barney and the back home via the B1190 to Branston Booths and Washingborough.

Again its a nice ride for a small 125 bike

I got this cam the md80 mini dv off ebay for about a tenner SDcard not included it have a 1 gig card at the time of the tests but has a 4gig card now :)

Need to work out how to sort the sound out as it doesn’t like loud sounds or wind lol

The Test was in the helmet and on the front of the bike.

Clock for my bike

0

I have just purchased this clock from Amazon for my motorcycle because I am sick of not knowing the time when I’m riding around, can’t look at watch with my gloves and jacket on.

It was cheap I just hope I can find a suitable place to locate it when it arrives :)
