1000k Service

0

My bike has had it’s first service (1000k) it’s had a new spark plug an oil change and the bolts have been loctited, they shouldn’t come lose again.

As promised I only paid for the oil, I did how ever purchase an extra 1L to keep in the shed if I need to top up, so the service actually cost me ruffly £6 and was turned around quickly,  thanks to the guys at :

Nasty Shock

0

Today after a bike ride today I had a nasty shock upon discovering that my rear brake assembly had come loose and was moving back and forth freely. I notice while out on my that when I used the rear brake there was a clonk, I did stop to have a look but couldn’t see much wrong at that time to I limp home just using the front brake. When I arrived home I had a proper inspection and found that the bolt (1) was nearly completely out of the frame, not much thread left to go and bolt (2) had loosened letting the hole brake assembly move forward, Thank god it didn’t become detached from the bike while I was doing 50-60mph

My bike has now done 360km from new. I will have to inspect the bike at closer intervals. I didn’t really expect the brakes to fall of at this sort of mileage :(

Weather cold but dry, roads rather dusty. Back seams to be coping with the bumps better. :)
