Video Tutorial on using Photoshop CS3 and Dynamic Photo HDRi to make a HDR + ORTON Effect mix up

HDR Tutorial (well is the way I do it)

HDR is a really cool photography technique, the abbreviation stands for High Dynamic Range Imaging, it involves the merging 3 or more images of increasing exposure.

First I used my camera Kodak Z1015 IS to capture 3 images in quick succession at -1ev, 0ev,+1ev, all jpg and all while the camera was sat on a tripod (most important) :)

-1 0 1

After the images are transferred on the the pc I use some piece of specialised imaging software, the ones I know that can create HDR images are, Adobe photoshop cs3 and cs4 from Adobe.com, another is Photomatix Pro from hrdsoft.com and the one I use the most ,because its FREE is Qtfpsgui (strange name I know but its great) downloadable from HERE

They are all really easy to use, basically you open 3 or more images to create a basic HDR image and then the fun begins, once the basic HDR image has been made we now need to tonemap the image, to bring out all that lovely detail, you can be as creative as you like, make surreal images or just add a slight effect. the choice is yours

You can view a show here of some cool HDR image made with the Qtfpsgui Program Below
